Dyke March Berlin 26th of July 2024. The day before the official pride the Dyke March takes place. It does so to stress lesbian visibility. Gay white men still have the leading part in the official pride. The Dyke March is very political. I saw many signs regarding “my vulva is a female only space”, ”Emancipate yourself from all hate ideologies”, “Smash homophobia” “LGBTQS against pinkwash”. Lesbians were in the spotlight but also non-binary, the situation for Palestine and the alarming concern for the growing fascism. Despite all of that I find “unapologetically lesbian” to be a very revolutionary message. Women choosing women are still a thorn in the eye of the patriarchal system.
