I can stroll down the street, lost in dreams of Cuban banana plantations, or vividly recall the hum of my father's Lancia, even though I last saw it fifteen years ago. I'm a daydreamer, a weaver of fantasies, existing simultaneously in this present moment and countless others. Being present is an art, requiring us to confront whatever arises. I wish I'd attended a school as a child that taught me how to be a human being. Perhaps it could have been called "The Presence."
